The Perfect Destination for Sightseeing
Steeped in history, Edinburgh seamlessly blends old and new to provide visitors with the perfect destination to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of a diverse and vibrant city. Edinburgh’s Old Town and New Town (which is not so new anymore) are jointly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our many historic Scottish buildings include Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the churches of St. Giles, Greyfriars and the Canongate. We have several fascinating museums and galleries. Such as the National Museum of Scotland and the National Gallery of Scotland. And you only need to take a short walk up Calton Hill, just next door to our hotel, for spectacular views and a historic collection of landmarks and monuments.
Our famous festivals
The city is also famous for its year-round festivals. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe has grown since 1947 into the biggest annual international arts festival in the world. It takes place every summer, alongside the Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Book Festival, Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and many more special events. Then over the winter, we have our famous Christmas and Hogmanay celebrations to look forward to.
