Is there a hotel age restriction

The minimum age for check-in is 18. Any persons staying at the hotel under this age must be accompanied by their parents or guardian.

How do I make a group booking?

To make a multiple-room booking, please contact us by phone or email.

Can I turn up without a booking?

Yes, you can and we will do our best to accommodate you. However, we can’t guarantee there will be a room available.

What time can I check-in?

You can check-in any time from 2 pm on your day of arrival. If you arrive before 2 pm and your room is ready, you can check-in early.

What time can I check out?

Please check-out before 11 am on your day of departure.

Can the hotel store my luggage before I check-in and after I check out?

Yes, please ask at reception and our team will be able to store your luggage. Please note, luggage is left at your own risk.

What time is breakfast?

Breakfast is served in our hotel breakfast room, from 7 am to 10 am Monday to Saturday, and 8 am to 10.30 am on Sundays.

Does your restaurant serve lunch and dinner?

We do not currently offer lunches or dinners in our hotel restaurant. We do welcome guests to bring food back to their room to enjoy. Or there are many wonderful restaurants minutes from the hotel on George Street and at St Andrews Square. Our friendly team will be happy to assist with dinner reservations.

When is hotel reception open?

Our hotel reception is open 24 hours a day.

What star rating does the hotel have?

Parliament House Hotel has a 3-star rating, but we operate to a 4-star rating. Due to the age of our historic buildings this prevents us from offering the full requirements for a 4-star rating. For example, our Jacobean wing does not offer lift access.

Is the hotel wheelchair accessible?

We have wheelchair-accessible hotel rooms. However, due to the historic nature of the building, some areas of the hotel, including the breakfast room, are only accessible by stairs.  

Does the hotel have car parking facilities?

As Parliament House Hotel is a city centre hotel, parking on the roadside is restricted. The area immediately in front of the hotel is for dropping off and picking up only. The closest on-street metered parking is on Regent Road and Waterloo Place. Charges apply between 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday, for a maximum stay of 4 hours. For longer stays, we recommend Q PARK on Greenside Row. Our guests receive discounted parking here.

Is the hotel pet-friendly?

No, we are sorry but the hotel does not allow pets. However, we do allow guide dogs.

Do the rooms have en-suite bathrooms?

Yes, all our rooms have en-suite bathrooms.

Do you provide housekeeping services?

Yes, we do. And clean towels and bed linen are provided, of course!

Do you provide room service?

No, we do not have a restaurant at our hotel. We allow you to bring food into the hotel and we do serve breakfast daily in our breakfast room. Please book this as an additional add-on if not included in your rate.

How do I get to the hotel from the airport?

We are around a 30-minute taxi ride from Edinburgh Airport. By public transport, you can take a bus from the airport to Waverley Bridge, or a tram to the east end of Princes Street. We are just a short walk from there.

How do I get to the hotel from the train station?

Our hotel is located just a 5-minute walk from Waverley Station, Edinburgh’s main railway station. There are also taxis available at the station if you prefer not to walk. Find out more about travelling to our Edinburgh hotel from the airport here.

Does the hotel have a swimming pool and spa?

Unfortunately, our hotel doesn’t have a swimming pool or spa. There are not many hotels in Edinburgh with buildings able to accommodate such facilities. But we can help get you booked in for a spa day and direct you to our nearest Edinburgh swimming pools. Please contact us for more information.
