The Real Mary King’s Close
Mary King’s Close is an ancient narrow street, now hidden below the Royal Exchange Building on the Royal Mile. It was once a bustling market street, full of life and activity. But when it was closed off to the public in the 18th century, it became shrowded in mystery. Locals told tales of sickness, crime and murder. But now, you can visit this underground world for yourself and learn the truth behind the fiction.
