‘I’ve visited the Assembly Rooms on a number of occasions with my most recent one being for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It’s a great venue which lends itself to various events…’

Links with Edinburgh Festival Fringe
The Assembly Rooms became an Edinburgh Festival Fringe venue in 1981, when theatre director William Burdett-Coutts leased the venue from the council to use for his own show and others. He then founded the Assembly theatre promotion company. This is now one of the “big four” promotors, running many of the shows performed at the Festival Fringe every summer, with a group of venues across the city.
Welcoming Edinburgh accommodation
The Assembly Rooms is just a 15-minute walk or 5-minute taxi away from cosy accommodation at Parliament House Hotel. So, if you’re planning to attend an event or show at the venue, either for the Festival Fringe or throughout the year, book a room with us and relax in comfort.
