The City of Edinburgh is in Scotland’s central belt, on the east coast, by the shores of the Firth of Forth. Edinburgh has its own international airport and national railway station, so you can get here easily from anywhere in the world.

When should I visit Edinburgh?

This is one of the more difficult Edinburgh questions, as our city is beautiful at any time of year. January to February is the coldest and therefore quietest and cheapest time to visit. The city is in bloom from March to May. From June to August we have the summer festivals, and this is the warmest and busiest time in Edinburgh. In September and October, the city is awash with spectacular autumnal colours. And in November and December it’s a sparkling festive winter wonderland. So the choice is yours, there is no bad time to come here!

Where should I stay?
