Experience the Magic of the Edinburgh Christmas Market

Edinburgh Christmas Market 2019

The Edinburgh Christmas Market is one of the things that makes our city such a special place to be over the festive season. It’s more than your average festive market. There are so many things to see and do that will delight the whole family, from shopping, fairground rides, food and drink and plenty of free events for you to enjoy.

Here are a few of the highlights we’re looking forward to this year:

Light Night – 17th November

Blue and pink fireworks fill the night sky

The official opening of the Edinburgh Christmas Market on 17th November is an event not to be missed. Beginning at 3.30 pm, local choirs and youth groups will perform along The Royal Mile. Even Santa will make a flying visit! The climax of the event is a terrific fireworks display and the official lights switch-on. This free event is a delight for the whole family and an annual fixture for many people. Come along and celebrate with us (and around 20,000 others!).
