1. Edinburgh Christmas market and attractions

Edinburgh Christmas Market is a huge hit with anyone visiting this historic city. It starts on 17th November and finishes in early January. The traditional Christmas market and fairground attractions will stretch along East and West Princes Street Gardens, taking in many of Edinburgh’s landmarks along the way. For a bird’s-eye view, take a trip on the 46m tall Big Wheel. On the ground, expect to find a peppering of quaint and quirky stalls. 2. George Street ice rink

This year, the Christmas ice rink will be on George Street. Your chance to glide up and down the street on an alpine ice rink, which has become one of the festive favourites here in Edinburgh. 3. Christmas at the Botanics 2024

At the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, you can get into the festive cheer with this spectacular light show. Meander the gardens illuminated trail on a chilly winter’s eve and take in the beauty of this landscape, lit up at night. This is is a truly magical experience for all to enjoy. 4. Christmas Panto

The Festival Theatre will be hosting Cinderalla this year, with some big name Scottish stars helping you have a great time. Starring Allan Stewart, Grant Stott and Jordan Young, the panto kicks off on 2rd November and finishes on 31st December. Book tickets.

5. Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations

Also on the agenda, of course, is Edinburgh’s Hogmanay! This spectacular event celebrates the turning of a new year. Spanning 4 days of celebration, this year’s programme includes live music, street parties and fireworks!
