Right next to Linlithgow Palace, explore the beautiful St Michael’s Parish Church. The church has a rich history and fascinating architecture. Take a walk around Linlithgow Loch and enjoy the wildlife and views of the palace. Visit Linlithgow Canal Centre for peaceful boat trips and cruises along the Union Canal. There is also a canal museum and a tearoom at the centre. And learn about the town’s history at Linlithgow Museum.
Just south of the town centre, Beecraigs Country Park is a tranquil recreational park, offering walking and biking trails, a cafe and a visitor centre. A great place to visit for a picnic and wildlife spotting. Around 5 miles northeast of Linlithgow, discover the dramatic ruins of Blackness Castle, a 15th-century castle which juts out into the Firth of Forth, known as ‘the ship that never sailed’.
