Experience the magic of the Edinburgh Christmas Market
Edinburgh’s Christmas Festival 2024/25
The Edinburgh Christmas Market is one of the things that makes our city such a special place to be over the festive season. It’s more than your average festive market, it’s a whole festival. There are so many things to see and do that will delight visitors to the city. Activities include shopping, fairground rides, food and drink, shows and events. Here are a few of the highlights we’re looking forward to at the market this year, running from Friday 15th November 2024 – Saturday 4th January 2025.
Festive market stalls
Visit the traditional Christmas Markets in Princes Street Gardens and browse a delectable range of seasonal gifts and goodies. From homemade sausages to candy canes and hand-knitted scarves, enjoy the atmosphere and pick up a festive treat or two for you and the family.

Christmas Wheel and fairground rides
The top of East Princes Street Gardens will stand the Christmas Wheel. The huge Ferris wheel will offer spectacular views over the city from the comfort of enclosed, weather-proof pods. There will also be a selection of other rides for the thrill-seekers amongst us.
Christmas Ice Rink
On George Street, you can take to the ice at the outdoor Christmas Ice Rink. A unique chance to swoop and glide down one of the city’s main streets! Located at the west end of George Street, between Castle Street and Charlotte Square.
