Dunbar Golf Club
Originally laid out in 1857 and redeveloped over the years by greats such as Old Tom Morris, Ben Sayers and James Braid, the East Links at Dunbar Golf Club is a beautiful and historic golf course. Overlooking the Firth of Forth, it is a glorious championship course. Hosting many competitions, including The Scottish Amateur and Scottish Professional Championships. It is also used as a qualifying venue when the Open Championships is held at nearby Muirfield. Visitors are welcome to the club, but please note that it is only suitable for experienced golfers.
The East Links Course
Situated in the coastal town of Dunbar, the East Links course occupies a narrow strip of land with magnificent views out towards the Bass Rock in the Firth of Forth estuary. It has been altered and extended several times over the years. Notably by golfer and course designer, Old Tom Morris, in 1894. With further changes made by fellow Scottish golfers Ben Sayers and James Braid in 1923. This is now a challenging and popular 18-hole course, relatively short in length. Ranked as one of the best in the Lothians.

Visiting Dunbar Golf Club
This is a championship course and therefore suitable for experienced golfers only. Visitors must reserve a tee time in advance. You can do this by booking online or by contacting the club here. There is a practice area, which you can visit before your tee time, with a putting green, shot game area, and warm-up nets. There is also a pro shop onsite, where you can purchase or hire equipment and other items.
Dunbar Golf Club is easy to reach from Edinburgh. Around a 45-minute drive east of the city centre. Or, you can travel by rail to Dunbar Train Station, and it’s just a short taxi ride from there.
