Edinburgh TradFest
Edinburgh TradFest is a celebration of traditional and folk music from Scotland and around the world. Enjoy music, dance, storytelling, drama, film and more, at this vibrant traditional music festival, which takes place for around 2 weeks, usually across April and May each year.
“A feast of culture”
Edinburgh Tradfest is run by Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland (TRACS), an organisation that aims to showcase Scotland’s cultural heritage and make traditional arts more accessible to all. Launched in 2013, the festival shines a spotlight on Scottish and international folk arts. Encouraging and promoting traditional live music, and creating a sense of community. It features both well-known artists and emerging new talent, in a varied programme of shows, concerts and events.
The festival hosts events across a few different venues in Edinburgh. Such as the Scottish Storytelling Centre, Assembly Rooms and Traverse Theatre. Event categories include music, film and storytelling. Take a look at what’s on here.
