Edinburgh Food Festival
Edinburgh Food Festival is a relatively new Edinburgh festival, launched in 2015. It takes place every summer, usually for around 10 days, in George Square Gardens. The festival celebrates the very best of Scotland’s food and drink. Featuring street food stalls, cooking demonstrations and local producer events. This outdoor event is a must for all foodies. What’s more, entry is free and unticketed.
Celebrating Scottish produce
The festival showcases food and drink from some of the finest producers in Scotland. Here, you can purchase refreshments from a wide range of street food vendors. The food on offer varies from year to year, but expect an array of delicious dishes, influenced by cuisines from all over the world.
Cooking demonstrations by chefs from top Scottish restaurants are highlights of the event. Previous guests have included Carina Contini (Contini Edinburgh), Shirley Spear (The Three Chimneys, Skye), Tom Lewis (Monachyle Mhor, Perthshire), Neil Forbes (Cafe St Honore, Edinburgh) and Derek Johnstone (Borthwick Castle, Midlothian).

Visiting Edinburgh Food Festival
Edinburgh Food Festival takes place in George Square Gardens, located in Edinburgh’s Old Town. The entrance is on the east side of the gardens (by Windmill Street). For guests staying with us at Parliament House Hotel, this is around a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride away. Entry to the gardens is free.
