The Biggest Concerts in Edinburgh this Summer

Edinburgh Summer Concerts 2019

If you’re planning a trip to Edinburgh this summer, we’ve got good news! There are some fantastic Edinburgh summer concerts on the agenda, including the Edinburgh summer sessions in Princes Street Gardens. And of course, there’s the summer festivals.

Edinburgh Castle Concerts

Every summer, the esplanade at the castle is transformed into a venue for gigs in Edinburgh. Where better to see your favourite band? Artists including Westlife, Tom Jones and Rod Stewart have all performed against the stunning Edinburgh Castle backdrop. This summer you can catch Paul Weller on 11th July, Kylie Minogue on the 14th and 15th and The Proclaimers on the 20th and 21st of the month.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the Proclaimers have rocked Edinburgh Castle …

Edinburgh Summer Sessions

Princes Street Gardens is the ultimate sun trap on sunny Edinburgh days. But visit the city in August and you’ll be here just in time for the Edinburgh Summer Sessions. Held in the Gardens from 7th to 18th August, there’s plenty of cool gigs to catch. Florence + the Machine are playing from 7th to 8th August, Primal Scream are here on the 10th, and Madness take to the stage on the 18th. Plus loads of other artists too! When it comes to Edinburgh summer concerts, there’s nowhere better to rock out than Princes Street Gardens.

Here’s what went on at last year’s event …

What else is on?

July and August are popular months to book a stay at Parliament House Hotel. You’ll be just a 10-minute stroll from the action at the Castle Esplanade and Princes Street Gardens. Edinburgh Waverley train station is right around the corner too. The city is awash with colour and life in August, when the Edinburgh Festival Fringe comes to town. It’s the largest arts festival in the world. You’ll find thousands of shows – everything from music and dance to comedy and theatre. Plus plenty of free street performances on the Royal Mile.

Why not book your stay in one of Parliament House Hotel’s spacious double rooms today? You’ll be just a short stroll away from all the best venues for Edinburgh summer concerts.
