Edinburgh Summer Concerts 2022
If you’re planning a trip to Edinburgh this summer, we’ve got good news! There are some fantastic Edinburgh summer concerts on the agenda. And of course, there’s the summer festivals too.
June: The Big Top at Royal Highland Centre
New for 2022, The Big Top arrives at the Royal Highland Centre this June. Edinburgh’s latest pop-up venue, this is a huge circus tent with with a capacity of 8,000. The Royal Highland Centre is outside the city centre in Ingliston, but there are regular bus services. There will be performances from James on 11th June, Madness on 12th and Fatboy Slim on 18th. Then Snow Patrol on 23rd and finally Biffy Clyro on 25th.
July: Edinburgh Castle Concerts
In summer, the esplanade at Edinburgh Castle is transformed into a venue for gigs. Where better to see your favourite band? Artists such as Kylie Minogue, The Proclaimers and Rod Stewart have all performed against the stunning Edinburgh Castle backdrop. This summer you can catch Olly Murs on 8th July, Deacon Blue on 9th and The Script on 16th.
August: Edinburgh Summer Sessions
Princes Street Gardens is the ultimate sun trap on sunny days. But visit the city in August and you’ll be here just in time for the Edinburgh Summer Sessions. Held in the Gardens from 7th to 14th August, there’s plenty of cool gigs to catch. Lionel Richie is performing on 7th August, Michael Kiwanuka on 8th and Simply Red on 9th. Then Tom Jones plays 10th and 11th. Followed by Simple Minds on 12th and Travis on 14th. When it comes to Edinburgh summer concerts, there’s nowhere better to rock out than Princes Street Gardens.
