Comfortable hotel in quiet area but near city centre

We stayed for one night on a Xmas trip to Edinburgh. We wanted to be within walking distance of the city centre so we could visit the xmas markets and the bars. The hotel is in a very interesting old building but has all the modern comforts one would expect. We didn’t eat there but the menu looked interesting Comfortable bed. Nice shower room. We would book here again.

Hidden little gem

Visited this hotel for a couple of nights with my Husband. I was looking for a Traditional Hotel for a relaxing break. We arrived by train and the Hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the Station. We found The Hotel easily as it is just off Princes Street but in a very quiet street. On walking into the Hotel lobby/lounge I noticed the lovely cosy coal fire and the fine decor and it was immaculately clean and tidy. We stayed in a lovely cosy room that had lovely toiletries and even home-made shortbread which was a nice touch and we even had a view in the distance of the Sea. We had breakfast and dinner in the Hotel and the food was very nice indeed. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it is an absolute gem!

An independent wee gem!

For a 3* rated establishment this hotel punches well above its weight for what it offers the visitor/customer. A characterful establishment with lots of warmth and cosy appeal. Staff were very helpful, pleasant and personable. Rooms very comfortable with all amenities you’d get in a 4* establishment. It’s central location, is discreetly tucked away, so noise pollution is minimal (St James centre notwithstanding this at the moment). Would recommend if you want a central location without paying high end rates, or chain branded accommodation.

Theatre break

A great little hotel hidden away just below Calton Hill. The room was lovely and comfortable with tv and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and a very smart shower room. It has a small lounge in reception with a lovely warm fire where you can have a coffee or a late-night drink. Also, a bistro where we ate on our first night and the food was delicious. The staff in all areas were also very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel if looking for a base in Edinburgh as it is five minutes from Waverley station and shops etc.

I absolutely loved this hotel ...

I absolutely loved this hotel! Excellent location, close to all the historical sights, public transportation, and to the main shopping streets as well, nevertheless it’s in a quiet little street so the best for relaxing. I would definitely recommend it to everyone who visits this beautiful city. Cosy atmosphere, nice decor, comfortable rooms, wonderful and helpful staff, I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. Thanks so much for your hospitality!

Christmas lunch

We met with a group of friends in this stylish hidden gem in the City centre. Some of us had a traditional Christmas lunch while others had fish but we all agreed that it was delicious and very reasonably priced. We all moved to the bar/reception area for coffee and mince pies and happily spent the rest of the afternoon there. All in all a great experience.

Fantastic hotel, location and staff

We stayed for a long weekend at this excellent hotel, it was very clean, lovely decor and our room was lovely. The location is great easy walking distance to most things, it was 5 mins from Waverley station. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had dinner one night in the restaurant which was excellent, the breakfast was amazing with lots of choice. We had several drinks in the cosy lounge after trekking around Edinburgh before we went out and when we got back for a nightcap, lovely choice of Whiskies. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to visit again. We had an amazing time in Edinburgh and made extra special by staying in such a wonderful hotel. Many Thanks

Quirky hotel in a great location

We stayed there on and off for 2 weeks in September. It is very quaint and our room was small but it had all the features necessary for a great stay. The hotel is situated about a five minute walk from the Royal Mile. It is close to the train station and bus terminal. We took a small van tour mid stay and the hotel stored our large luggage, free of charge. Breakfasts were very good with a variety of hot breakfasts made to order. There was also a small buffet. If you want convenience and a small hotel, this is your place.

First-class experience

Stayed one night after on way home from holiday, having stayed here before. The hotel is great place to stay, beautifully decorated and inviting. Staff friendly and nothing too much trouble, hotel manager was very helpful and dealt with our check out in a very friendly manner and dealt with a minor problem we had with breakfast in a very generous way. Will definitely stay again.

Great Location to the Royal Mile and Affordable!!

We stayed at the Parliament House Hotel twice during our time in Scotland. We started our Scottish journey in Edinburgh and ended it there as well. Both visits were amazing! First off we LOVED Edinburgh. Beautiful, historic and safe city. The Parliament House Hotel was a 10 minute walk to the Royal Mile and a 5 minute walk to Waverley train station and and it was an affordable hotel as well. The staff was very helpful, they helped us find restaurants, get our rental car returned and just overall very friendly and accommodating! The hotel amenities were modern but set in a historic building…perfect!!

Wonderful, charming hotel!

We stayed at the Parliament House Hotel for five nights and absolutely loved it! The location is handy; we were able to walk to the Royal Mile and other places of interest. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind, and our room was clean and attractive with a modern, spacious bathroom. You can’t possibly find a nicer, more affordable, typical Scottish hotel anywhere in Edinburgh!

This was such a cute hotel. Loved the old quirky charm of the place. Staff was very accommodating. They were able to get us in our room early so we could take a break after a long day of flying. Would definitely stay here again.

We love this hotel ...

We love this hotel. It had so much character. The room was so amazing. The staff went above and beyond. We ate a wonderful breakfast there both mornings and had dinner one night. The food was delicious. It was also walking distance to so many wonderful sights. We also felt comfortable sitting in the lobby with a whiskey and interacting with other guests. If I’m ever in Edinburgh again, I will stay at Parliament House.

Twice is nice

We stayed here on two separate occasions during our hiking holiday in Scotland and both times we had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were a good size (we had a very large room on the first stay and a slightly smaller one on the next) and the showers were excellent. We never did eat here so I cannot vouch for the food. The proximity to Waverly Station was one of the main reasons we decided to stay here and we were very pleased to not have far to lug our baggage when we left. Hotel staff was very friendly and the layout of the hotel itself is very interesting.
