We Love Edinburgh in July!
If the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh during the Fringe isn’t for you, why not come to Edinburgh in July instead? Quieter, cheaper and a much more relaxing experience, there’s still loads happening! The sun is usually shining and there are loads of things to do in the summer in Edinburgh.
Concerts at the Castle
Edinburgh Castle is the stunning backdrop for a whole range of concerts in July this year. Catch Paul Weller on the castle esplanade on 11th July. Kylie Minogue is playing from 14th to 15th July. While on 20th to 21st July, you’d better brush up on your ‘500 Mile’ lyrics for The Proclaimers!
There’s more to Edinburgh festivals than just the fringe. Edinburgh July 2019 hosts the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival, the Art Festival and the Scottish Real Ale Festival! Running from 12th to 21st July, the Jazz and Blues Festival takes place at quirky venues around the city such as the Jazz Bar and the George Square Spiegeltent (a must!) as well as the Festival Theatre and Assembly Hall. Or why not come along to the Art Festival, running from 25th July to 25th August? Taking place in the capital’s best museums, galleries and artist-run spaces, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Scottish Summer in the City
As if that wasn’t enough, you can catch the award-winning, smash-hit music ‘The Bodyguard’. Based on the hit film, it’s showing at the Edinburgh Playhouse from 9th to 20th July. With affordably priced tickets, you can take the whole family. Why not enjoy dinner in MP’s Bistro first, with our pre-theatre menu?
