Oktoberfest

5 – 8 October 2023

A Bavarian Oktoberfest comes to Princes Street Gardens this October. Enjoy German beer and food, such as bratwurst, schnitzel and pretzels. Dance to live music from traditional Bavarian bands and soak up the fantastic atmosphere. Lederhosen is optional, but encouraged!

Scottish International Storytelling Festival

13 – 29 October 2023

The Scottish International Storytelling Festival celebrates the art of live storytelling through a varied and exciting programme. Based at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on the Royal Mile, events feature everything from traditional tales to new stories, from all around the world. There are also workshops, discussions, music and dancing.

Edinburgh Horror Festival

26 – 31 October 2023

As the nights get darker, the Edinburgh Horror Festival arrives to celebrate all things spooky and scary. It runs for the six days leading up to Halloween. Featuring a programme of theatre, movies, comedy, magic, poetry, games, workshops, interactive events and so much more.

December 2023

Edinburgh Magic Festival usually takes place over the festive period. Presenting a magical line-up of productions to dazzle and delight. From small and intimate performances to grand magic shows. Taking place across a wide variety of Edinburgh venues, such as theatres, castles and museums.

Our world-famous Hogmanay celebrations welcome the new year in style! With a torchlight procession, street party, concerts, events and also spectacular fireworks, there is an electric atmosphere in Edinburgh over the new year.

25 – 28 January 2024

Taking place around Burns Night each winter, Burns and Beyond is a celebration of the life and legacy of our national poet, Robert Burns. Featuring special arts and cultural events in venues throughout the city. With a programme of live music, dance, comedy, poetry and art.
