Visit Edinburgh in July

We Love Edinburgh in July!

If the hustle and bustle during the Edinburgh International Festival and Festival Fringe isn’t for you … why not come to Edinburgh in July instead? Quieter, cheaper and a much more relaxing experience, there’s still loads happening! The sun is usually shining and there are loads of things to do in the summer in Edinburgh.

Concerts at the Castle

Edinburgh Castle lit up at night

Edinburgh Castle is the stunning backdrop for concerts each July. In previous years, we have seen the likes of Rod Stewart, Lionel Richie, The Proclaimers and Westlife rock the Castle Esplanade. So far, The Script have confirmed they will be playing the castle on 17th July. Look out for more announcements on upcoming castle concerts here!

Festivals Galore

There’s more to Edinburgh festivals than just the International Festival and Fringe. Edinburgh July 2020 hosts the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival. Running from 17th to 26th July, this music festival takes place at venues around the city such as the Jazz Bar and the Spiegeltent (a must!) as well as the Festival Theatre and Assembly Hall. There’s also the amazing Edinburgh Festival Carnival and Mardi Gras, details of which are still to be announced.

As if that wasn’t enough, the smash-hit show ‘Heathers The Musical’ is coming to town. Based on the 1988 black comedy film, it’s showing at the Edinburgh Playhouse from 7th to 11th July. Plus, fans of BBC comedy Mrs Brown’s Boys can catch ‘Da Live Show’ there from 17th to 19th July.
