The Edinburgh Horror Festival is back once again to send shivers down your spine. So in preparation of all things ghoulish, gruesome and ghastly, we thought we’d share everything you need to know about this Halloween event.
Edinburgh Horror Festival Returns
The Edinburgh Horror Festival is a multi-art celebration of all things Halloween. It runs for the five days leading up to Halloween. And it incorporates everything from theatre, movies, magic shows, games, workshops, interactive events and more. This year, the festival will be resurrected on Friday 26th October and will continue right up until the big day, Wednesday 31st October!
Visit Edinburgh’s Haunted Underbelly
In true Edinburgh festival style, hundreds of performances will be taking place in venues across the city. These include the Banshee Labyrinth, Badabing and Lauriston Castle. And since these are some of Edinburgh’s most popular haunts, we recommend arriving a little earlier to get great seats.
Events this year include MonsterCon, a horror film and literature conference. Serial Killer Cabaret, a satirical musical show. Stand Up Horror, with comedy from Alex Staniforth. And, the annual Rocky Horror Night complete with movie screening. You can view the full programme here.
The majority of shows are free and you don’t need to book any tickets. But there is a pay-what-you-want rule. In other words, make a small donation of at least £5 if you can, at the end of all free shows.
Book an October Halloween Break
So all that’s left to do, is book a haunted break with Parliament House Hotel. With this offer, enjoy 2 night’s accommodation with breakfast in the heart of Edinburgh, dinner on the first night of your stay, plus two tickets to one of Edinburgh’s world-famous ghost tours. Add in some Edinburgh Horror Festival halloween events and we’re sure you’ll have a frightfully good time!
