The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world. If you’re looking for something to tickle your funny bone, you’d be hard-pressed to do better than The Fringe. Known for showcasing the best up-and-coming comedy stars, as well as hardened veterans of the circuit.

This year’s programme runs from 5th to 29th August 2022. With over 3,000 events across 255 venues, and a total of 1,130 comedy shows, the Fringe Festival takes funny business to new levels! But with so much on offer, deciding what to see can be a daunting task. That’s why we’ve picked out a few top comedy shows to leave you in stitches…

Maisie Adam: Buzzed

3 – 29 August 2022, Gilded Balloon Teviot

Maisie brings her latest show, “Buzzed”, to the Edinburgh Fringe. She has gone from strength to strength after being nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2018. Frank Skinner: 30 Years of Dirt

4 – 28 August 2022, Assembly Roxy

Frank is a legend on the comedy scene, starting out over 30 years ago. He won Edinburgh’s prestigious Perrier Award in 1991, beating the likes of Jack Dee and Eddie Izzard. His new show “30 Years of Dirt” brings us an hour of sharp and witty stand-up. Book tickets.

Larry Dean: Fudnut

4 – 27 August 2022, Monkey Barrel Comedy

Winner of Scottish Comedian of the Year 2013 and the Amused Moose Comedy Award for Best Show 2016, Larry Dean is one of Scotland’s own. He has appeared on Live at the Apollo and supported Eddie Izzard on tour. And now he’s back at the Fringe for an hour of observational humour and storytelling. Book tickets.

A final catch-all for the best The Fringe has to offer. At around midnight on Thursdays to Sundays, Fringe superstars gather for Best Of The Fest, a compilation of comedy highlights from this year’s performances.
